Traveling by backpack and being away from the comforts of home for so long can be a tricky business. Packing becomes an artform and deciding what to bring and what to leave behind is never easy. Making matters more difficult is that we will be traveling through hot and humid temperatures, deserts, and cold mountainous areas in the grip of the Southern Hemisphere winter season.
